KNAUF RF – Gypsum Board / Drywall

KNAUF RF – Gypsum Board / Drywall

The Knauf RF Gypsum Board consists of a fire-resistant gypsum core, coated with 100% recycled reinforced cardboard with a natural finish on the front and craft color on the back. The front cardboard is folded around the tapered longitudinal edges, designed to facilitate joint treatment, thereby providing a uniform finish between boards.

The Knauf RF Gypsum Board has a Type X core to provide greater integrity resistance of the board under fire conditions and enhanced acoustic insulation.

Advantages

  • Lightweight and economical material that easily adapts to a wide variety of decorative finishes, allowing for immediate painting or other decorations, and the installation of plaster or wooden moldings.
  • The Knauf RF Gypsum Board is easily cut for quick installation.
  • The gypsum core does not yield to combustion nor transmit temperatures much higher than 212°F (100°C) until it is completely inclined.
  • Eliminates excess humidity present in construction.
  • Resistance against cracking and deformation.
  • With Knauf RF Gypsum Boards, assemblies with 1 to 4 hours of fire resistance are achieved.
  • Recommended for walls in rough use spaces, where greater rigidity of the system is required.

Basic Usage:

  • For the construction of walls with gypsum boards in one or multiple layers. A greater thickness provides better fire resistance, less sound transmission in walls, ceilings, and coverings with high specifications in design.
  • Fixed and suspended ceilings.
  • Walls with metal structure.
  • Walls with wooden structure.
  • Direct coverings.
  • Semi-direct coverings.
  • Self-supporting coverings.

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Protect the product from freezing, extreme heat, and direct sunlight, conditions that can cause premature expiration.
  • The installation of Knauf RF gypsum board over an insulating blanket continuously installed over frame elements is not recommended. The insulating material should be inserted, and the flaps fixed to the sides of the posts or beams.
  • Knauf RF gypsum board should be kept dry to minimize the risk of mold formation.
